Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Nikola Tesla Talk page reverts

[edit]

To understand the revert on Talk:Nikola Tesla, please read the pink banner at the top of the page. All discussions of Tesla's nationality and ethnicity are limited to the page Talk:Nikola_Tesla/Nationality_and_ethnicity by a RfC 6 June 2015. This was not done as an effort to suppress discussion. For 23 years, ever since this page was created, there have been nonstop vicious edit wars between Serbian and Croatian nationalists over the sentence on Tesla's nationality, see the 16 huge archives on the Talk page. It got so nasty that it was interfering with other editing discussions on Talk:Nikola Tesla. So the editing community created a separate Talk page for this subject. If you look at the RfC on 6 June 2015 this was a consensus of the community and an incredibly popular one. Discussions on Talk:Nikola_Tesla/Nationality_and_ethnicity are not "suppressed", they have the same freedom as with any Talk page, and comments added to that page appear on the same watchlists as those on Talk:Nikola Tesla. So editors that are interested in the nationality and ethnicity discussion can go to that page, and those interested in other aspects of constructing the article can go to Talk:Nikola Tesla. --ChetvornoTALK 20:08, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
